MEET THE CHEERLEADERS

Satori is the original Shamanic Cheerleader, artistic director, and captain of the squad. She performed Tango with Top Hat Productions in Santa Fe and got her first taste for inspiring large crowds as "Lucy Lobo" winning "Best Female Mascot" in1996 in the WAC. Satori's performance experience includes ongoing gigs in stilt walking/stilt dancing, choreography, face painting and interactive character work for companies such as Earth Circus, Skyana, and Gregangelo. She toured with the jam band, The String Cheese Incident™ as the coordinator and choreographer for onstage dance acts from 1998 – 2001. Crescendo, a founding member of the Shamanic Cheerleaders, is the energy ball of the group. She is aptly known as Crescendo, bringing waves of it wherever she goes! With jumping beans in her booty shorts and hips that have a mind of their own, she creates impromptu choreography on the spot. Philly-born and bred, her swirls around the dance floor raise the vibration and inspire the desire in all of us to let go and be free.
Tumbling performances and competitive gymnastics occupied Crescendo's youth, while theatre and dance of all varieties filled her teen and collegiate years. She has studied West African, Brazilian & classical Indian dance, modern, belly dance, salsa and swing, and performed with the east coast hip-hop group, Absolute N.R.G.
When not dancing, Wendy is still moving. She is a Vinyasa yoga teacher at Yoga Tree (Castro), Mission Yoga and the Sports Club/LA in San Francisco. She also loves working one-on-one during private yoga sessions and is currently exploring the healing path of Yoga Therapy. With the remaining energy she has left, Wendy teaches a spin class (indoor cycling) twice a week. Ever the explorer, Wendy has dabbled in fire poi, hooping and stilt walking and is about to embark upon vocals and aerial arts if she can sit still long enough.

She moved to the bay area in 2005 with the intention to find a performance group that was as eclectic as she was!
Off stage Afterchakra has had an ongoing connection to the healing arts, and has studied traditional healing methods from India, China, Tibet, Africa Europe and the Americas and with Peruvian and Columbian shamans. Her commitment to inspiring wellness in the lives of those around her led her to open a private naturopathic medical practice that she has been running successfully for 10 years.
