About The Shamanic Cheerleaders

The Shamanic Cheerleaders are a bay-area based performance group dedicated to bringing spirit while delivering multi-dimensional entertainment wherever they go. Their intention is to deliver a powerful message of all-inclusive consciousness through playful levity. Their high-energy performances are one-of-a-kind and individually tailored to suit any event or theme. They raise awareness about environmental/social issues and current events through a variety of cheerleader skills including dance, acrobatics, spoken word, song, cheer and music.

This talented group of six women has been igniting laughter and smiles for thousands of people over the past three years at a wide range of events, venues and festivals. They were chosen to lead the midnight ritual at Santa Rosa's popular Harmony Festival. They have thrilled audiences at concerts in Las Vegas with String Cheese Incident and have shared their grace and beauty in a sold-out 80-minute theater show collaborating with author and astrologer, Rob Breszney. They've also been part of the Stop the Spray benefit, Elevate Film Festival in Los Angeles at Nokia Theater and opened for Michael Franti and Spearhead at the Power to the Peaceful after-party in San Francisco.

They are currently developing a full-length show that tells their story, the birth of the Shamanic Cheerleaders! So keep the faith, BE HERE NOW and stay in touch for future works!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We, the Shamanic Cheerleaders, use the term "Shaman" with great respect for the profound and diverse legacies of healers and mystics throughout the world. We do not claim to be Shamans.
We recognize the value and universal nature of Shamanic healing techniques, including their use of intentional song, dance and energy work to promote personal and community healing.
We have developed our own unique performance style that has not originated from any one direct lineage but is more a fusion of a wide range of healing and performance modalities.
"After divining, the shaman must address the problems that were uncovered. This is where the shaman may become a trickster. through puns and clever jokes, shamans distract their clients, opening them up to participating in the hard work of admitting some responsibility for their problems. If a patient recognizes her part in creating an illness, for example, she can empower herself to relieve it. In shamanism as in other aspects of life, humor heals."
